P.O.W.E.R to Choose

Keynote Speech

Growing up in a home and environment where drugs, alcohol and violence were considered the norm, Janelle wanted something different. Her escape plan and answers to her life’s problems was a college education . . . or so she thought!  Even that did not turn out how she originally imagined. The lack of support caused her to face many of her obstacles alone and her new environment brought about issues she never knew were there such as poor study skills, low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Her obligations between school and home made her question if leaving home to attend college was the right thing to do. After many mistakes, Janelle was eventually able to find her way and her purpose.

In this keynote, Janelle shares the defining experiences and critical choices that helped her to survive the tough times and the keys to the mindset that allowed her to create a future that was opposite of what she grew up in, get to and through college and eventually help thousands of students do the same. She challenges listeners to become the best version of themselves by activating their own Power to Choose!
